DESCRIPTION: Imagine a robot that could help you prepare a meal, tidy up around the house, or get ready in the morning, and that could learn to do these things the way you actually like them done. As we live longer, robots may one day help many of us stay independent and comfortable in our own homes. But to be truly helpful, a robot can't be one-size-fits-all; it has to adapt to each person's own needs, preferences, and abilities. In this talk, Professor Tom Silver will share how his lab at Princeton is teaching robots to personalize the help they provide over time, learning from just a little experience, staying understandable so you always know what the robot is doing, and keeping safety first. He'll show real examples of robots assisting with everyday tasks and discuss what this growing technology might mean for the future of aging. No technical background needed, just curiosity.\n\nGENERAL INFORMATION\n\nThis is a hybrid event — register to attend in-person or virtually via Zoom.
