DESCRIPTION
Ladies First features women composers spanning all the way from the 1500's to today. The string quartet shares background about each piece in the program, as well as providing musical history and insight into women's roles in the music business. Some of the pieces are very accessible, while other compositions in the program feature advanced harmonic and rhythmic combinations, encouraging the listeners to expand their ideas about music.
