How Social Media Influences the Perception on Aging (1:00-2:00 pm) | Registration Required Below
Social media often reinforces negative stereotypes of aging, portraying elders as frail. Our society lacks education on respecting and valuing older generations. NightingaleNJ offers tools to support elder loved ones, helping them feel valued and connected. Educating youth on healthy aging fosters a more compassionate, inclusive view for future generations, highlighting the wisdom and contributions of older adults
Presenter: Chris Kellogg, LSW, founder of Nightingale NJ Eldercare has been a passionate advocate for older adults throughout his more than 20 years in senior services.

Communication in Dementia for Positive Outcomes by Akin Care (2:00-3:00 pm) | Registration Required Below
Communication is one of the biggest challenges families face. This presentation will focus on strategies to effectively communicate with your loved one who has a dementia diagnosis or cognitive decline for the most positive of outcomes.
Presenter: Sheli Monacchio is the founder of Caring Connections of NJ and PA and the executive director of Akin Care Senior Services.

Full Sensory Dementia Experience (30 Minutes) (Tours happening 1:00-4:00 pm) | Registration Required Below
The Virtual Dementia Tour temporarily alters participants' physical and sensory abilities using sensory tools and instruction based on research conducted by P.K. Beville, geriatric specialist and founder of Second Wind Dreams®. This simulation is facilitated by Penn Medicine Princeton Health and may include loud noise, bright lights, and active movement.
