COURSE DESCRIPTION
Explore, Engage, and Empower. Looking, discussing, and listening. The Princeton University Art Museum has one more year to go before it opens in its magnificent new building. This course will prepare you to independently engage with the museum's world class art through close looking and empower you to bring meaning to unfamiliar pieces you see during your museum visit. Our docents will guide you as you explore, discuss, and listen to each other's observations. Additionally, docents will provide information about the artist, the materials used, and the historic context.

Six Docents, six weeks exploring the theme: "What was it like to be..." A conceptual artist...an Outsider artist...a Renaissance artist...a Woman artist...an Indigenous artist.

COURSE LEADER
Princeton University Art Museum docents are an integral part of the educational initiatives and frontline team in presenting the treasures that make up the Museum's expansive collection. Six of our docents will be presenting this course.
