COURSE DESCRIPTION
During the 2023–2024 term of the United States Supreme Court, the Court has addressed significant "hot button" issues including presidential immunity, abortion rights, gun control, January 6 prosecutions, racial gerrymandering, social media rights, and restrictions, federal agency powers and many others, all of which impact the lives of many in this country. The course will focus on the decisions rendered by the Court and what the future may hold as to the issues decided, including a lecture addressing the issue of judicial ethics.

This is primarily a lecture course, but time will be available for full participation of all attending the course.

Philip Carchman is a retired judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, and also served as the Mercer County prosecutor.
