DESCRIPTION

Break out of your routine and discover a healthier, happier you! Join us for a fun day and sample classes at the Suzanne Patterson Bldg. both in-person and on Zoom or join us for our Zoom classes from the comfort of your own home. Meet our amazing instructors and find the perfect fit for your fitness goals. Whether you're looking for gentle movement with Tai Chi/Qigong, movement awareness with Feldenkrais, improved posture with Solvents & Glue, or a brain-body workout with Ageless Grace, we have something for you. You can also try Yoga for Pain Management, Guided Meditation, and the popular sport of Pickleball. Bring a friend and meet our amazing instructors and find the perfect fit for your fitness goals.

Prize giveaways throughout the day and a lucky attendee will win the grand prize of $25 towards one of our health & wellness classes. Light, healthy, and energy boosting refreshments will be provided throughout the day. Come for a class or two, or stay for the whole day. Space will be available to rest and take breaks between classes (if desired).


FITNESS DISCOVERY DAY SCHEDULE

All of our exercise classes are either in-person or virtually on zoom. For our Fitness Discovery Day, you are welcome to join us either in-person at the Suzanne Patterson Building or virtually on zoom for those sessions that are hybrid. For those attending the classes in-person, a live stream of the virtual class will be available so you can remain in the building while still experiencing the virtual classes.

  • 10:00 a.m. | The Feldenkrais Method with Jackie Boone (In-Person only)
    Discover the Feldenkrais Method and find new possibilities in movement. Move with more ease and less pain. Bring your mat or one will be provided.
  • 10:30 a.m. | Solvents & Glue with Jackie Boone (In-Person only)
    Solvents and Glue is series of lessons for strengthening and stabilizing your joints through a variety of very precise movements.
  • 11:00 a.m. | Ageless Grace with Allyson Toth (In-Person only)
    Boost cognitive skills and physical function through this seated exercise program which features 21 fun exercises targeting motor skills and memory—refresh your mind and body!
  • 11:30 a.m. | Yoga for Pain Management with Danalee Gascon (Virtually on Zoom while streaming in-person)
    Whether you're managing back pain, arthritis, or everyday aches, yoga can be a powerful ally on your journey to relief and resilience.
  • 12:00 p.m. | Fitness for Every Day Living with Rich Lund (In-Person only)
    Join our wellness program that blends movement, breath work, and mindfulness to boost strength and balance. Improve posture, reduce anxiety, and lower injury risk.
  • 12:30 p.m. | Tai Chi & Qigong with Rich Lund (In-Person only)
    Tai Chi/Qigong is a gentle flow of slow, focused movements and deep breathing that promotes relaxation, balance, and harmony of mind and body. A perfect way to maintain strength, flexibility and balance.
  • 1:00 p.m. | Chair Moves & Grooves with Larraine Allison (Virtually on Zoom while streaming in-person)
    Join our Zoom chair aerobics workshop! Boost endurance with music-filled sessions. All you need: hand weights, therapy bands, comfy attire!
  • 1:30 p.m. | Meditation for Mind-Body Balance with Cline-Okoye (Virtually on Zoom while streaming in-person)
    Join this meditation class to gain skills around managing anxiety, promoting relaxation, improving focus, and fostering other positive states of mind, welcoming to all levels.
  • 2:00 p.m. | Pickleball with Carolyn Dardani-Horensky (In-Person only)
    Find out what the craze is all about and dive into learning the basics of Pickleball!
