Program Details

COURSE DESCRIPTION
A 1975 lawsuit led to judicial recognition of a right to die for the first time. The course will focus on the ruling and developments that followed through the enactment of the Medical Aid in Dying Act in NJ as well as a discussion of the moral and ethical issues.

COURSE LEADER
John Zen Jackson is a New Jersey attorney practicing in the healthcare law field including end-of-life issues and cases for fifty years. In addition to being a certified civil trial attorney and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, he has published over eighty articles on healthcare and litigation topics, including biomedical ethics issues.
